What information does this site collect and use?

The NPWR site functions for the benefit of visitors and members by providing information on the results of competitive racing of miniature pine cars or trucks. Racing of these vehicles goes by many common names such as Pinewood Derby™, Awana Grand Prix, Model Car Derby, Shape N Race Derby, Powder Puff Derby, Pine Car Derby, RA Racer Derby, Kub Kar Rally, Beaver Buggies, Scout Express, Lego Derby, Woodcar Derby, and others.

The information collected and presented is intended to provide the visitors and members with reference to their specific participation in a competitive racing event noting the date, location, organization, participant’s name, vehicle name, vehicle photo, vehicle performance, and race standings.

In the future if cookies are utilized, users should be aware that non-personal information and data may be automatically collected by the NPWR sites through the use of “cookies.” “Cookies” are small text files a Web site can use to recognize repeat visitors, facilitate the user’s ongoing access to and use of the site, and allow a site to track usage behavior and compile aggregate data that will allow content improvements. Cookies are not programs that come onto a user’s system and damage files. Generally, cookies work by assigning a unique number to the user that has no meaning outside the assigning site. If a user does not want information collected through the use of cookies, there is a simple procedure in most browsers that allows the user to deny or accept the cookie feature. The NPWR would use “cookie” technology only to obtain non-personal information from its online users in order to improve users’ online experience and facilitate their visit within our site.

The NPWR does not currently use a method known as “session tokens.” The “session token” is a cryptic number that identifies your browser session to our server. This “session token” is stored in the memory of your browser for up to 30 minutes after your last activity on our site and may be completely destroyed by you by closing your browser. This allows the server to continue the “conversation” with you in context of the process or transaction you are involved in. This “session token” is changed automatically during your session for security purposes and is not written to your hard drive. The “session token” does not contain any personally identifiable information; the “session token” is required to use certain systems.

Personally identifiable data is collected only by means of form interfaces on the site, into which the member enters the personal information requested.
